Who She Is
Specializing in strategic communications for values-driven business, Andrea Gates Sanford is the owner of She Can Do It LLC. For over thirty years, SCDI has provided a unique purpose-based business approach to provide creative and effective communications.
Andrea has a strong background in graphic design and production. She studied at Oberlin College and The University of Michigan School of Art, later receiving an MBA in Sustainable Business from BGI (Presidio Graduate School). She started her career in Austin, Texas as art assistant for Designosaurus Tex, was production manager for publications at the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington DC, followed by production manager for the launch of Discovery Channel Online. She started She Can Do It and Watchdog Graphics in 1994. She produced live online streaming video and currently ring stewards at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and Morris & Essex Dog Show which continues to be the best jobs she ever had.
Based on beautiful Bainbridge Island, Washington, she is trying to learn how to play the cello and loves to do all kinds of crafty things but primarily spends her free time training and competing with her two talented Doberman pinschers in agility, obedience, barn hunt and conformation. There’s also a very intrepid calico cat but she doesn’t do sports, other than napping and stalking rubber mice.

With an eye for elegant, concise design, Jamie Marks is creative advisor and design support for She Can Do It. Their ability to take all types of content and reformat it into simple, fresh communications is often nothing short of miraculous. Jamie’s first question is: What does the reader most need to know?
Readers always appreciate the answers.
They attended Washington State University where they studied writing and communications. After moving to Seattle, they were the graphic designer for HR Creative Group, creating dynamic, functional content for corporate employees, before launching on her own and partnering with She Can Do It.
They are passionate about equal rights and social justice, dogs of all kinds, and family. Currently studying to be a therapist for LGBTQ+ teens, when they can squeeze out the time they search for the best comfort food in Seattle. They also greet Mount Rainier every morning with a quick, “Hey, girl”.
